Laptops for Students

The library has a limited number of laptops to check out to students for the Fall Semester. The laptops have webcams, microphones, and have the Respondus Lockdown Browswer.

Students may request a laptop by emailing karen.neville@rrcc.edu.

The Library will also be open during fall semester for students who need to use WiFi, Computers, and to Print.

Course Reserves

With the shift to more online and remote learning, we understand there may be concerns about students being able to access the Course Reserve copies of textbooks housed in the library. Students will be able to access reserve materials anytime the library is open. If you anticipate that students will need access to reserve materials but will not be able to come to campus, please send an email to library@rrcc.edu and attach your course syllabus. We will make every effort to find an electronic version we can make available, however in some cases this isn’t possible. In those cases, we will need your syllabus to be able to complete documentation we keep on file in support of fair use BEFORE we digitize any chapters. You can then embed those digitized excerpts in your D2L course shell and your students will have access to their readings.

Because copyright laws still apply to these materials, we ask that faculty only distribute these digital materials through their password-protected D2L course shells.  Fair use laws allow us to scan limited amounts of a book for educational purposes, but the law provides for penalties if we distribute them more widely.  We appreciate your help in ensuring that we are compliant with copyright restrictions. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly at karen.neville@rrcc.edu or 303-914-6747. For more on copyright, please review our Copyright Guide for Faculty.
